HUNTSVILLE, Alabama–On June 10, the Alzheimer’s Association will host its sixth annual Roast to Remember.

This year, Dr. Mark Pullen will have his feet put to the fire as roasters Ron Collins, Debra Jenkins, Ralph Hornsby Jr. and Gary Huckaby Jr. poke some good-natured fun at the good dentist. Gary will also serve as emcee and last year’s honoree, J.R. Brooks, will be on hand to present Mark with an award.

“Mark has always shown an interest in giving back to the community he has grown up in,” said Jib McLain, development director for the association. “He has lent his hand to a multitude of local organizations. Since we have roasted doctors, lawyers, bank presidents, the publisher of The Huntsville Times and a past mayor, it just seemed it was time to go after a local dentist.”

The evening is sure to be a roaring good time at the Westin. In addition to the roasting, guests will enjoy a silent auction that features trips, artwork, jewelry and more. Dinner and entertainment from the Charlie Lyle Orchestra will accent this hot summer night.

All money raised will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. More than 5 million people in the United States live with Alzheimer’s. The association aims to eliminate the disease through the advancement of research, to provide care for those affected and to reduce the risk by promoting brain health.

“For more than 15 years, the association has been a source of education and support to North Alabama families affected by Alzheimer’s disease,” said Jib. “Our office provides information packets, educational programs and support groups while advocating for patients and families.”

Reservations for the fiery fun should be made by Friday. Corporate tables are available for $1,000 and include seating for eight and listing in the program. Tickets at the benefactor level are $125 a person. They are $100 a person at the sponsor level and $75 per person at the donor level.

“This is always a fun evening that includes a highly visible community personality who allows his roasters to poke fun at him for a worthy cause,” said Jib.
